NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is looking to set up a BBC-style world news channel "to establish an international voice" and put forward India's perspective on global and domestic issues.

Those behind the project said that India for some time has needed its own channel along the lines of others like France24 and BBC World.
