Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Mumbai

Cars and debris are left scattered after the wall of a building under construction collapsed in the wake of heavy rain in India's financial capital of Mumbai. Yesterday's incident in the Antop Hill area of the Wadala locality prompted the evacuation of people in two wings of an adjacent block of flats. The city's residents had woken up to extreme waterlogging and traffic disruptions at many places. At least three people died in rain-related incidents in Mumbai and the neighbouring city of Thane, including a 15-year-old who was crushed by a falling compound wall.
