The exit of two top journalists from a Hindi language news channel has turned into a political controversy and triggered a debate on press freedom in the world's largest democracy.

There is widespread speculation that top journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai and managing editor Milind Khandekar, who announced their resignation from ABP News this week, were forced out following critical reports of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government.
