Concept of privacy will change as rules in cyber arena evolve

Research and technology will play a key role in ensuring cyber security in the modern world, and concepts of privacy will change based on the rules put in place to prevent abuse, IT guru Senapathy "Kris" Gopalakrishnan said in a wide-ranging interview with The Straits Times last Thursday.

"Competition and wars are going to be in the cyber or the digital field in the future, so we need to build those capacities, capabilities and technologies for cyber security. We have to be the good guys, not the bad guys," said Mr Gopalakrishnan.
