NEW DELHI - Andhra Pradesh has five years to build its capital city Amaravati from scratch on agricultural land in the Guntur Vijayawada region.

Hyderabad will remain the common capital for Andhra Pradesh and and Telangana till 2024, at which point Andhra Pradesh can no longer claim it as its capital city.
