After weeks of speculation, veteran politician Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has confirmed he will run for the post of president of Umno, Malaysia's largest party.

"After analysing Umno's position and considering all implications… I humbly offer myself to contest for Umno's presidency," Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh said at a press conference at his Kuala Lumpur home yesterday.
