Final candidate list for Umno's polls

Malaysian opposition party Umno is expected to reveal the final list of candidates for upcoming internal polls today after they are vetted, including checking if they are bankrupt.

Seven have registered their names for the president's post, and it is understood that the serious candidates remain the trio of acting president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, veteran MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.


Conference on learning differences

A conference that showcases research and solutions for people with learning differences opens today.

The event, Uniting Ideas in Teaching Excellence: Specific Learning Differences 2018, will cover dyslexia as well as attention deficit hyperactive disorder and Asperger's syndrome, among others. It is organised by the Dyslexia Association of Singapore.


Banks association holds annual dinner

The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) is holding its 45th annual dinner at Marina Bay Sands tonight.

ABS chairman Piyush Gupta, who is also chief executive of DBS Bank, and guest of honour Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education, will be giving a speech.
