Asean anti-dengue campaign day

Today is Asean Dengue Day, an annual campaign day advocating dengue prevention and control within the grouping. The day provides a common platform for promoting cooperation and exchanges on awareness about the disease and its prevention. Dengue has an immense social, economic and human impact on South-east Asia. Of the estimated 2.5 billion people worldwide at risk of dengue, 1.8 billion live in the Asia-Pacific region.

Honouring those who help children

The Singapore Children's Society Awards recognise the dedication and generosity of volunteers and donors whose contributions have helped to build a better life for the children under the society's care.

This year's recipients will be honoured at an awards ceremony at the Pan Pacific Singapore tonight.

New private home sales figures

Data on new private home sales for last month will be released today. Market watchers say the numbers will be boosted by the strong take-up of Gem Residences, a condominium project in Toa Payoh that sold more than 300 units at its launch late last month.
