Remembering MH17 victims

Horror gripped the world when Malaysia Airlines' Flight MH17 was shot out of the sky over a rebel-held area in Ukraine on July 17 last year. All 298 people from 11 countries on board perished.

Tomorrow, Malaysia will hold a memorial service at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport for those who were killed in the incident .


Final deadline for nuclear deal

Foreign ministers from six major powers and Iran have till today to finalise a historic nuclear agreement and present it to US lawmakers. If Congress does not receive the deal by midnight in Washington, it will extend its review process of whether sanctions should be lifted.

US President Barack Obama believes the chances of getting an agreement with Iran are now "below 50-50", according to a top Democratic senator.


Nominees for the Sports Awards are...

Many local athletes distinguished themselves in a busy year last year that included three major sports events - the Youth Olympics, Commonwealth and Asian Games.

But who stood out especially? Today, the Singapore National Olympic Council will reveal the nominees for the Singapore Sports Awards, including those in line to be the country's sportsman and sportswoman of the year.
