Jokowi to speak on security, economy

Ahead of Indonesia's national day tomorrow, President Joko Widodo will give two speeches today, one on a broad range of topics from social issues to politics and security, and the second on the 2017 state budget.

The latter will be the first time he will spell out key figures and assumptions on the economy for next year.


Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival

The annual Mid-Autumn @ Gardens by the Bay will be held from Sept 3 to 18. Highlights at this year's Mid-Autumn Festival celebration will include the first-ever interactive lantern procession at the opening ceremony, nightly performances, cultural activities and a food street. A mass colouring session will raise funds for 58 appointed beneficiaries under the President's Challenge 2016. More details about the celebration will be announced today.


Forum on regional business

The second edition of the Singapore Regional Business Forum will be held here today. Organised by the Singapore Business Federation and supported by the China Embassy, it aims to explore regional cooperation and connectivity, as well as emerging business opportunities.

The forum will include plenary sessions and breakout discussions with business leaders and industry experts.
