Two reports on Tuesday and Monday, "US and Philippine troops start 12-day joint drills" and "Vietnam seizes Chinese ship near South China Sea in rare move", wrongly stated that Singapore was an observer in the Balikatan exercises last year and this year. Mindef has clarified that Singapore did not participate in the exercises as an observer last year and this year.
