How trade war will hit SE Asia: Vietnam the only regional producer most likely to benefit

As the US-China trade war shows no sign of abating, there are fears that it could escalate into something bigger. The Straits Times talks to analysts about the possible scenarios and the impact on the region, including Singapore.

The year-long exodus of electronics, garment and other low-margin manufacturers from China is likely to accelerate amid the escalating trade spat with the United States.

Only a few of China's neighbours, however, will benefit from the flight, analysts say.
