Umno yesterday picked new chiefs for its three wings as the Malay nationalist party tries to move forward after last month's shocking electoral defeat.
But the internal polls - held for the first time in five years - for the wings and 191 divisions showed that Umno remains dominated by figures from the previous leadership.
This is despite calls for the party to bring in new blood to stand up against the Pakatan Harapan government. Umno members might still be resistant to change, though it needs to quickly adapt itself as an opposition party, analysts say.
