A court case involving a terrorist who brazenly walked into North Sumatra's police headquarters with an accomplice last year to kill a policeman with knives, is being closely watched as Indonesia grapples with returnees from war zones.

The attackers wanted to steal guns from the police for use in even bigger atrocities.
