KUALA LUMPUR - A tour bus skidded and overturned at the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban expressway on Monday (Sept 12), injuring 37 of the 44 passengers on board.
The accident occurred at 9am on Monday, when the bus was on its way from Ampang to Puchong, Malaysia's Bernama news agency reported.
All of the injured were taken to hospital, while the remaining passengers were sent home.
The 44 passengers on board the bus were Malaysian Chinese senior citizens aged between 50 and 70 years old, The Sun Daily newspaper reported, citing Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police chief Mohd Nadzri Hussain.
He said based on initial investigations, the bus lost control because the road was wet and slippery, although there was no signs of oil on the road.
"The bus turned 180 degrees before it overturned on the left shoulder of the road," he added.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident and neither the driver nor the tour guide was hurt.
The bus was reported to be in good working condition and there was no mechanical fault, he said.
