Three killed, including 9-year-old girl, after head-on car collision in Malaysia

BINTULU (BERNAMA) - Three people, including a nine-year-old girl, were killed and another person sustained serious injuries in an accident involving three vehicles at KM6 of Jalan Tatau-Bintulu in Sarawak on Sunday (June 3).

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said the dead were identified as Bakie  Ladin, 33, who was the driver of a Proton Wira car, and two passengers, Jeanety Liah Liana Lily, nine, and Sai Among (whose age could not be verified at press time).

He said the incident occurred at about 1.45pm after the driver had lost control of the vehicle at a bend before colliding with a Proton Exora and Toyota Camry, which were coming from the opposite direction.

Another passenger of the car, Lily Kawan, 42, survived the accident but sustained severe injuries in the head and right leg, he said in a statement on Sunday night.

Alexson said the drivers and passengers of the two other cars escaped injuries.
