BANGKOK (THE NATION/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Caretaker premier Niwuttamrong Boonsongpaisan's whereabouts are not yet known after the armed forces seized power on Thursday.

Mr Niwuttumrong did not attend the meeting hosted by army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha at the Royal Army Club earlier on Thursday, which was intended to find solution to the ongoing political crisis.

All rival groups were invited to the second day of talks.

The premier had been absent from the meeting since the first day, claiming he was the premier and would not attend the meeting hosted by the army chief.
