KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Two individuals have surrendered themselves at the Bukit Aman police headquarters to aid investigations into the stomping of a poster of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said the two individuals surrendered at 11am on Monday (Sept 7).

"One of them was a 14-year-old female student, while the other was a 21-year-old supervisor at a construction site," he told the media on Monday.

The case was being probed by the Bukit Aman Classified Investigation Unit under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for intending to cause fear or alarm to the public.

Last week, police urged two individuals, believed to be Bersih 4 rally participants, to come forward and facilitate investigations over the poster-stomping incident.

According to a statement on the PAS Facebook page, the "slanderous and ill-intended" image had superimposed photographs of Abdul Hadi and Najib, depicting them in an embrace.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that so far, 267 police reports have been lodged over the incident.
