KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's nine sultans, who serve as King for a five-year term under a unique rotational system, have a largely symbolic role in politics.

But Wednesday's (June 16) meeting between the current King, Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah, and his brother rulers was followed by some serious political messaging aimed at steering the country out of the current logjam.
