Singapore strongly condemns Jakarta suicide bombing; no reports of Singaporeans affected or injured: MFA

Singapore strongly condemns the bomb attack at the Kampung Melayu Bus Terminal in East in Jakarta on Wednesday (May 24) which killed three and wounded 11 others, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesman said on Thursday (May 25).

The official said there has been no reports of Singaporeans directly affected or injured in the incident, and urged Singaporeans in Jakarta to keep in touch with their family and friends.

The Singapore Embassy is working with the Indonesian authorities to monitor the situation closely, the spokesman added.

"The Government of Singapore stands ready to work with Indonesia to bring those responsible for such reprehensible acts of terror to justice," the spokesman added in a statement released by MFA.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a swift recovery."
