Selangor chief minister set to leave post to take over as economic czar

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Azmin Ali is set to take up an enlarged role as Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's economic czar today, rebalancing a Cabinet that has been the source of squabbling in the four-party Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

Sources told The Straits Times that the Selangor Menteri Besar, or chief minister, has expressed his wish to vacate the post to the Sultan of Malaysia's richest state, who is due to make an official decree this morning.
