PATHUM THANI, THAILAND - Parit Chiwarak, 22, offered a firm handshake rather than a traditional Thai "wai" by way of greeting before the interview.

He insists on addressing Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn simply as "Vajiralongkorn", because "we are all equal as humans".
