Mention of nasi goreng on sidelines of Jokowi's rally evokes his common man image

Nasi goreng is arguably the quintessential Indonesian dish, enjoyed by tens of millions across the country, regardless of race, religion and financial status.

So, it should come as no surprise that talk of the legendary and, until last weekend, secret recipe of Indonesia's founding president Sukarno's favourite fried rice has found its way into the campaign.
