SERDANG – Malaysians must reject those who try to divide the nation across race, religion or territory, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking at his National Day 2025 address on Aug 30, Datuk Seri Anwar said that unity has been the cornerstone of Malaysia’s success from the very beginning.
He then added that Malaysia’s independence was achieved through sacrifices that must not be forgotten by future generations.
“There have been countless sacrifices; lives, property, tears. I appeal to the younger generation to learn and know that whatever we have achieved came at a price,” said Mr Anwar.
“Our country is unique, as it is the only one with various races and religions that has enjoyed lasting peace, economic growth, alongside growing unity,” he added in his speech at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang.
He said there is no country that can last if it is incited by racial division and added that no country can achieve independence if there is no cooperation or unity.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof, Selangor Chief Minister Amirudin Shari, Cabinet ministers and members of the civil service. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
