The raid on one of former prime minister Najib Razak's residences that netted hundreds of luxury handbags, jewellery and cash on Thursday night shocked not just the nation, but premier-in-waiting Anwar Ibrahim too.

The 70-year-old freed politician described it as "mind-boggling" and "clear greed", after investigators carted away 284 boxes of Hermes Birkin bags and 72 bags of other valuables from several apartments in Pavilion Residences linked to Datuk Seri Najib in a late-night operation.
