Opposition politician freed after pardon by Cambodian PM

Opposition Senator Hong Sok Hour of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) speaking to the media in Phnom Penh yesterday after his release from prison.

He had been sentenced on Nov 7 last year to seven years in jail for posting on social media a doctored document about the contested border with neighbouring Vietnam. He was pardoned yesterday after an apology letter was sent to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
