It is quite probable that no other head of government has faced a first 100 days like Malaysia's Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had to, simultaneously fending off a killer virus as well as fighting efforts to topple his government.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin marked his 100th day in the hot seat yesterday, with most of his time in office spent trying to balance the health and economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Malaysia's unemployment rate is now at its highest since the global financial crisis a decade ago, and a recession is all but certain for 2020.
