New Bandung alternative airport yet to soar

Uphill struggle to lure airlines and passengers, amid distance woes plus lack of population, leads government to force domestic flights to go there

Mr Waluyo, 49, is tired and frustrated and he has not even boarded his flight.

He sits alone on a line of seats as he eats a pastry in West Java's vast spanking-new Kertajati International Airport located about 70km from Bandung, near where he lives.
