PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor are suing Democratic Action Party's (DAP) Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming for allegedly defaming them in a post on Facebook.

The plaintiffs' lawyer Mohd Hafarizam Harun said a copy of the claim would be served to Nga on Monday. The claim was filed last week.

Nga is alleged to have uploaded on his Facebook page on March 29 a photograph with several Cabinet ministers and high-ranking officers at a hotel in China together with defamatory words.

It is claimed that the offending words implied that Najib was not fit to lead the Malaysian government as he had delegated his duties to his wife.

It is further claimed that the words suggested that he had abused his power and mandate as Prime Minister for his and his wife's interest.

The suit is fixed for case management before deputy registrar Anisah Normah Muhammad Nor on July 10.
