KAJANG (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - For nearly four hours, he hid behind the signboard of a hotel here, hoping to evade arrest after committing a murder.
The suspect – a Myanmar national – was finally spotted by police combing the crime scene for clues.
He was promptly arrested some 70m from the hotel room’s window.
Police are investigating him for allegedly killing a woman on Thursday night.
OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the victim was found inside the hotel room in a pool of blood.
“There were several stab wounds on her stomach and chest, as well as wounds on her right arm.
“We seized a kitchen knife, believed to have been used by the suspect, near her body,” he said, adding that the victim – also a foreigner – has been staying at the hotel since Tuesday.
ACP Ahmad Dzaffir said police sought help from firemen to bring the suspect down before taking him into custody.
He said the suspect has been remanded for a week.
