Motorcyclist dies in Johor Second Link accident on the way to Singapore for work

ISKANDAR PUTERI (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A trip to Singapore turned fatal for a motorcyclist after he collided with an express bus at KM0.7 along the Second Link Highway in Johor Baru on Friday (Oct 6).

The district police officer for Iskandar Puteri Assistant Commissioner Noor Hashim Mohamad said the victim, Yeoh Yoke Khing, 37, was heading into Singapore for work when the incident took place at around 6am.

"Initial investigations revealed that the motorcyclist was heading from Johor to his workplace in Singapore when his vehicle hit the rear tyre of a bus which was in the midst of doing a U-turn," he said.

Noor Hashim added that the victim died at the scene due to severe injuries caused by the collision.

He said the body has been sent to Kulai Hospital for a post-mortem while the bus driver did not sustain any injuries.

"The road, weather and visibility were all in good condition," he said, adding that the case was classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
