Members blame arrogance, bureaucracy for Umno's defeat

Many of his peers dismissed Umno Youth executive secretary Zaidel Baharuddin as the boy who cried wolf when he warned of defeat ahead of the May 9 general election.

"When I said a couple of months before the elections we would lose, the reaction of my peers was, 'Why would you say that?' They thought I was too critical and panicking," he told The Straits Times.
