PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysia's Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali has lodged a police report against blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) over his recent articles.

"Yes, I did lodge a police report against RPK on Oct 22 for criminal defamation," Tan Sri Apandi said in a text message on Wednesday (Oct 25).

Apandi said the articles had made various allegations about corruption, which he has strongly denied.

Raja Petra had also written about a purported meeting in 2015 between senior judges and a senior politician about an alleged plot to topple the government.

On Saturday (Oct 22), the Attorney-General said that he would sue the blogger over his claims.

"I am seriously going to sue and am consulting my lawyer friends in the United Kingdom. This is nothing but fake news done with evil intention," he had said.
