KUALA LUMPUR - Controversial Malaysian cartoonist Zulkifli Anwar Ulhaque, better known as Zunar, will release a new book focusing on the Prime Minister Najib Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor, reported the local media.

The book, titled ROS in Kangkong Land, is a collection of the cartoonist's strips of the Premier's wife, according to The Malaysian Insider.

But the news website reported that it will be sold online only, due to "huge pressure from the government", said a statement from Zunar, issued through his wife on Thursday.

The book, which includes more than 140 cartoons, and will sell for RM25 (S$9.40) in English and Bahasa Malaysia versions, features drawings on issues like the Sedition Act and "shopping and golfing by the PM and wife", the statement said.

The Malaysian Insider also quoted the statement as saying that he chose Datin Seri Rosmah "because it is an open secret that she is more dominant and more powerful than the Prime Minister himself".

"Cartoon-wise, I am very impressed with her. She provides ideas for me and she is very 'cartoon-able'… so much so, this book is specially dedicated to her," the portal quoted Zunar as saying. "I cannot survive as a cartoonist if I depend on her husband alone."

The statement also said that Zunar would give Ms Rosmah an autographed copy of the book to show his "gratitude".

Appealing for support, Zunar's statement added: "Buying the book not only helps me financially, but also helps to spread the message."

Zunar, who was arrested on Tuesday night, was remanded for three days until Friday for investigation into his Twitter comment over the Federal Court's decision on Anwar Ibrahim's appeal case, reported The Star.

City Criminal Investigation Department chief Zainuddin Ahmad said that the arrest was made in front of the cartoonist's house in Pantai Dalam, The Star said.
