The new 34-strong Cabinet unveiled by Indonesian President Joko Widodo yesterday has left some scratching their heads.

Comprising a mix of newcomers and old hands, technocrats and politicians, including opposition figures, it has been dubbed the "Cabinet of compromise" by some analysts.
