PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar was presented with a wooden replica of a Harley-Davidson superbike as a token of appreciation from an Indian community leader.

The 500kg life-sized Harley-Davidson replica was carved out from solid timber wood, and was presented to Sultan Ibrahim by Indian community leader S. Deva at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Baru on Wednesday (Feb 7).

Deva said the gift was specially made for Sultan Ibrahim, whom he described as a person that cares for all Johoreans irrespective of their race or religion.

"It has been my dream to present His Majesty with a Harley-Davidson wooden replica as it is well-known that he has a personal collection and I have also been invited to join his Kembara Mahkota Johor entourage for the past five years," said Deva.

Deva decided to undertake this project together with a friend from Bergamo Group that has 17 years of experience in the timber industry.

Last month, the Sultan received a replica of a car from his favourite cartoon series The Flintsones.

The "foot mobile" - inspired by the vehicle driven by the series' main character, Fred Flintstone, in Hanna-Barbera's popular 1960s cartoon - was a gift from Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
