Johor Crown Prince pays tribute to Tunku Jalil

JOHOR BARU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has paid tribute to his late brother in a moving post, calling him a source of strength and inspiration.

"Out of all the sleepless nights, tonight is the most difficult for me," said Tunku Ismail in a post on football club Johor Southern Tigers Facebook's page on Saturday (Dec 5).

Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil, the fourth child of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday at the age of 25.

"You are our strength and inspiration. You have the one quality that none of us possess; your humble, loving heart.

"I love you with all my heart and I miss you dearly. You will never be forgotten. Your name will be carried by my bloodline. Your smile will be my strength," added the Crown Prince in his post.

Messages of condolences have poured in since Saturday, including from Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak.

"Condolences on the passing of Tunku Abdul Jalil. May his soul be blessed," said Najib in a tweet.

The funeral was scheduled for Sunday and the body will be buried at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum.

The public can pay their last respects at Istana Besar in Johor from 9am to 11am and VIPs from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
