JAKARTA (THE JAKARTA POST/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Two days after his inauguration as Indonesia's seventh president, Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has confirmed that he will announce his Cabinet line-up on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday morning, the former Jakarta governor said he would announce the names of his ministers sometime this afternoon or evening.
"I'll let you know the time. (The announcement) will take place either in Pluit (in North Jakarta), Tanah Abang (in Central Jakarta), Tanjung Priok (in North Jakarta) or maybe another place," he said after a brief visit to his former official residence as Jakarta governor in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Jokowi, a former Surakarta mayor and Jakarta governor, was officially inaugurated as president on Monday after he and running mate Jusuf Kalla secured 53.2 per cent of votes in the July 9 presidential election.
Jokowi has involved the Corruption Eradication Commission and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre to assess dozens of potential candidates short-listed to fill 33 ministerial posts - four of which will be coordinating ministers.
