- A 4m-long python was captured on the night of July 8 after it slithered into a cat’s pen at a house in Sabah.

Kota Kinabalu Civil Defence Force officer Captain Aizex Junior said they received a distress call from the house owner at Taman Pulatan in the suburb of Manggatal at 7.14pm.

“On arrival, the owner of the house informed that the python was in his front yard, and the four-member personnel dressed in personal protective equipment immediately conducted a search,” he said.

“The python was found in the cat’s pen on the back porch of the complainant’s house. It was caught by using special equipment within 40 minutes,” he added.

He said the snake was taken to the Kota Kinabalu Civil Defence Force office before being released in a safe location. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
