Tech observers are keeping a close tab on Indonesia as it emerges as a destination for big tech investment, following the high-profile visits of two industry titans in recent weeks.

On April 17, Apple chief executive Tim Cook visited the country, meeting Indonesian President Joko Widodo and hinting at how the iPhone maker could possibly start manufacturing there.
