This picture from the Surabaya Zoo taken on April 10 shows Rama, a 16-year-old male Sumatran tiger, with a tranquilliser dart on his leg while inside his enclosure at the zoo.
Rama died of heart failure on April 10 at the notorious Indonesian zoo where many animals have died prematurely due to neglect over the years.
The Sumatran tiger is critically endangered. The zoo's spokesman Veronika Lanu said after Rama's death that proper procedures had been followed. A tiger can live up to 20 years in captivity.
