PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The daughter of a flight steward on the ill-fated Malaysian Airlines MH370 flight has posted a touching tribute to her father who would have turned 50 on Saturday.

"I remember very well, the moments we had on your last birthday," wrote Maira Elizabeth Nari in her tribute to her father Andrew.

Maira posted the tribute on her Instagram account with a picture of him playing in the snow.

"That happy laughing face of yours, happy birthday daddy! You have reached 50 years of age and in another two weeks, it will be one year since MH370 went missing.

"I remember the last few moments before mom and Malcolm sent you off to the airport," she wrote.

She added that the family had planned a big celebration for his 50th birthday celebration including going to church to celebrate the big day.

"We miss you terribly and we love you always, you are the best husband to mom and the best dad for Malcolm and I, happy 50th birthday daddy," she added.

Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew on board.
