Thai coalition creates only a strong opposition, for now

Pheu Thai-led group dominates Lower House by its own count, but a lot could change before full results are out

Pheu Thai Party's unmasking of its six coalition partners yesterday is just the first act in a prolonged political drama that Thailand is about to see.

The seven parties - which include Pheu Thai splinter Pheu Chart, youthful upstart Future Forward, and fiercely independent smaller ones such as Seri Ruam Thai - have bagged at least 255 out of the 500 Lower House seats, by their own count.
