ABOARD IL-76 AIRCRAFT/ABOARD XUELONG - A Chinese IL-76 aircraft reached the target area in the southern Indian Ocean on Wednesday morning and has begun searching for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

Xinhua news agency reported that the weather conditions in the area are "complicated".

Chinese icebreaker Xuelong has also arrived in the area where Chinese airborne searchers spotted some suspicious objects on Monday, reported Xinhua.

The search for the missing aircraft resumed on Wednesday after being suspended on Tuesday due to bad weather.

A dozen aircraft from Australia, the United States, China, Japan and South Korea are scouring the seas some 2,500km south-west of Perth in the hunt for potential debris, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Tuesday night confirmed that flight MH370, which vanished on March 8 while flying to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, had crashed in the southern Indian Ocean.
