JOHOR BARU • Two people were killed when a car rammed into them as they were trying to assist two victims of an earlier crash.

Johor Baru North district police chief Mohd Taib Ahmad said the accident occurred at 4.15am on Saturday along Jalan Johor Baru-Ayer Hitam, near Skudai town.

"Initial investigations show that some motorists were assisting the victims from a separate incident when the car ploughed into them," Assistant Commissioner of Police Taib said in a statement.

The three motorcyclists were believed to have been on their way to Singapore when they noticed the accident and stopped to help.

Two of the motorcyclists were killed on the spot when the car, which was driven by a 29-year-old man, rammed into them.

Another person, as well as the two drivers of the earlier accident, were seriously hurt.

The three injured victims were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for treatment.
