Businessman finds Bintan ideal spot for coconut factory

BINTAN • After a two-year hunt for a site for his coconut factory, German-born Gerd Waldkircher finally hit the sweet spot in Indonesia's Bintan.

After all, there is plenty of the fleshy fruit in Indonesia, the world's largest producer of coconuts. And Bintan is located in the Riau Islands province - the country's "biggest coconut gardens".
