Bomb explodes at bank's ATM kiosk in Malacca

MALACCA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A homemade bomb exploded at the ATM kiosk of a bank in Ayer Keroh, in the Malaysian state of Malacca, damaging it.

Three masked men in a luxury car were earlier seen placing two homemade devices at the ATM kiosk at about 2am on Tuesday (Oct 13).

One of the bombs detonated, causing damage to the kiosk.

The police bomb squad removed the other explosive device at 9.50am.

Malacca's police chief, Deputy Comm Wira Chuah Ghee Lye, said three masked men were seen in the bank's closed-circuit television footage acting suspiciously at the scene of the crime.

He said the total losses are still being assessed.
