'Billionaire peasant' ready to be next Thai PM

Fresh from being elected as the leader of the new Future Forward party, car parts tycoon Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit said he was ready to be the next prime minister of Thailand.

Mr Thanathorn, 39, whose nickname is "billionaire peasant", has been outspoken against the military coup, and co-founded Future Forward in March with Thammasat University law lecturer Piyabutr Saengkanokkul.
