A by-election on Saturday in Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan state featuring top Malaysian politician Anwar Ibrahim has heightened interest not just in the electoral contest but also the beach town itself

Malaysian politician Anwar Ibrahim jogged barefooted on a Port Dickson beach last Wednesday and later that day made a surprise appearance at an event in an army camp there.

His moves captured the essence of the Negeri Sembilan town, home to scenic beaches and a string of military facilities.
