BANGKOK – Fifteen districts across Bangkok were hit by moderate to heavy rain on Wednesday, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) Flood Control Centre reported.

The district of Lat Krabang, near Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, recorded the highest rainfall of 62.5mm.

Low to moderate rainfall is forecast in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces of Prachinburi, Nakhon Nayok and Chachoengsao until Friday.

The BMA said rain is expected in 60 per cent of Bangkok and its environs, with strong winds in some areas.

Temperatures would range from 24 deg C to 26 deg C to a maximum of 30 deg C to 32 deg C, it added.

The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning of thunderstorms in upper Thailand until Friday.

It forecasts temperatures will also fall by between 1 deg C and 3 deg C.

It cautioned residents to beware of large trees and unsecured billboards that could possibly fall in the wet and windy conditions, and advised farmers to make preparations to prevent crop damage.

Winds and waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will also be more pronounced until Sunday.

Waves in the lower gulf will rise from 2m to 3m during storms, and ships are advised to proceed with caution and keep away from thunderstorms. THE NATION/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
